This Pickelhaube is from my fathers estate .It is original and a sleeper except that the strap looks newer .The helmet leather is in excellent uncleaned condition and is very subptle and not hard at all and none of the fittings have been cleaned or removed ever and all the leather stitching is intact and original.The brass will clean up beautifully .The inside liner is intact with no damage except that the leather cord ,which is present, is broken.The Lndwehr helmet plate is held by two leather strips and does not appear to have ever been removed.T are two cockardes one being Prussian and the other the Reichscockarde. T are two stamps on the bottom of the back (Nape) leather .I can make out that the one is IR 82 but the other I can not make out that is in a rectangular box stamp. An opportunity to add an original and very desirable scarce Landwehr Pickelhaube to your collection. You do not see the Landwehr one's so often! Have been able to make out a bit more under the nack neck nape namely "1907" (I looks looks 7) and "P 1.R883R" I think inside the black rectange. Also inside the helmet at the back is the bearers name in handwriting very faint "HORNF........" I think, and inside the front behind the helmet plate the makers mark being a circle within a circle with a printed name I cannot make out ,but it is tWith the right lighting read more
