The Junghans clock manufacturing company was one of the world's leading producers of well-built, long lasting clocks. In its 'hay-day', the Black Forest clockmakers produced thousands of wonderful clocks and this is most certainly a fine example of their world-class horological skill and expertise. The heavy, solid Mahogany case accents a deeply engraved brass dial surround inside of which is a Silver Chapter ring with SOUND/SILENT and SPEED (faster/slower)rings. The heavy brass movement has been carefully adjusted for perfect operation of the Westminster quarter-chimes that play on five melodious rods (see photograph). This is a very impressive clock that my wife found during one of our clock shopping trips to the "North Country"---she always has great taste. Look at the lovely inlay in the case wood (see photograph). Priced below many others of this high quality. It will surely grace some lucky buyer's home in the very near future!
