For auction is an original WW2 German LONG DRESS BAYONET / DAGGER . This piece would complete your historic rifle and/or collection perfectly. Please check out the original leather frog that came with this dagger. Blade The blade is not marked. The grips are tight. The leather washer at the base of the blade is intact. The blade is tight with no movement. It has not been sharpened. The blade is in super nice shape with all the plating intact. The plating on the handle is in great shape also. The original red felt insert is still in place in the rear of the handle. T are minor scratches and scrapes on the handle metal. T are a couple of very small areas w the plating is flaking up on the pommel. T are scratches on the blade from rubbing against the scabbard spring when the blade goes in and out. Please see last picture. Even though these are called dress "bayonets" and have a rifle mounting slot and release button, they were not made to mount on a rifle. They were pretty much for German soldiers when they weren't on duty and wanted to impress the ladies with their shiny blades. The pictures do not do this one justice. She is a real beauty. Scabbard T is one major dent, but the blade still slides in and out smoothly. It appears to have been repainted at some point. The frog stud is tilted to one side but not loose. It look like read more
