This auction is for 1 of our vintage German made Mauser K98 hinged muzzle covers. like the ones pictured, all are in good used condition. Features steel construction with a worn finish. No makers markings. This mounts on the muzzle to keep dirt and debris from the bore. The cap opens to allow cleaning and acts as a muzzle guide to center the cleaning rod in the bore to preserve valuable rifling. This early design was in use before adoption of the sight hood and will not fit on over the hood, probably 70-80 years old and makes a vintage Mauser display. Several available. Collect!
