I am listing this Knife as best I know how. I have done some research and will try to describe it as best I can. My husband tears down old houses and found this item sealed under the attic stairs of a house he is taking down. It appears to be a German Bayonet with matching Scabbard and frog. It is in very used condition, as it has rust except for on the blade itself. I am told that these had serial numbers after the rework, but this has none. Earlier? The markings that I can see are on the blade. It says DEMAG DUISBERG with a circle. The spine has what looks like a W and the number 17. A Crown with 7B below. It is worn from being pulled out of the scabbard? It has other letters/numbers on the handle but with the rust I cant make them out clearly. I am not able to clean it up any as I wouldnt know w to begin. The blade itself is dull and flat, so I dont believe it has ever been sharpened? It measures approx 20 inches long with 1 1/2 inch wide blade. The Frog is not dated and needs repair. The rivets are broken and tears in the leather on one side. Matching scabbard has the number 26. Not sure what war this is from, so please email me with any questions. Buyer pays Shipping/insurance of 7.50. Thanks and have a great day! In the description, I misspelled the marking on the blade. It should be DEMAG DUISBURG.
