Up for auction I have an Gorgeous German Pewter Drinking Horn and display stand. This is a gorgeous item and would be a very unique addition to the pewter lovers collection. This item is in pristine gift giving condition. T is no dents, dings, scratches, corrosion or discolorations on this lovely drinking horn.
**This piece stands perfectly straight contrary to my poor photographs. DESCRIPTION: This is a rare and very pretty item. This drinking horn comes with it's original wood display stand. The drinking horn rests securely in the stand both for display and while being used. The detail on the drinking horn is extremely ornate. T are emblems going down the neck of deer, turkey, hunting dogs, wild boar, wild cat, and a gorgeous majestic stag.Up near the top, t are 2 different scenes. They both show the hunter standing over his freshly harvested animal. T are massive mountains in the background.INCREDIBLE DETAIL throughout this gorgeous drinking horn.Around the brim, t is a wide band of nicely polished pewter suitable for engraving to commemorate that special occasion or holiday.Hanging from the underside of the drinking horn, t is a gorgeous pewter shield. The scene on the front of this magnificent shield consists of a huge majestic buck standing at the top of a cliff with a massive set of antlers. T is an image of a majestic deer with a golden cross between the spikes of the antlers. I believe this scene is called Hi. Hubertus patron protector of the hunt. T is a leather chord attached to 2 rings on the top of the drinking horn. What a rare and gorgeous item! This drinking horn will be a treasure for it's new owner. The pictures don't do it justice.
