Up for auction I have an awesome German Pewter Barrel and 6 Pewter Tankard Glasses. This barrel can be used for anything from whiskey, schnapps, wine or whatever your favorite drink is. This would be a very unique and appreciated gift for the pewter lover or that hard to get person in your life. This set is in gently used condition. T are some very minor surface markings that came from normal use and age, they in no way take away from the beauty function or appearance of this unique item. T is no corrosion or discolorations on this very unique set. DESCRIPTION: Up for auction I have a German Pewter barrel equipped with it's own wooden stand with 6 pewter tankard style glasses. The front and the back of the barrel features a really pretty scene called Wirtshaus. The Wirtshaus scene is on both the front and back of the barrel. Around the outer edge it says: WER NICHT LIEBT WEIN, WEIB UND GESANG, BLEIBT EIN NARR SEIN LEBEN LANG. The scene in the center shows a well dressed couple in medieval era clothing. The lady is sitting on the gentleman's lap. He is raising his goblet up high, while she is holding a pitcher. T is a scruffy dog at their feet. They are sitting at a wooden table which looks like it may be either outside, or in a bistro/vineyard type setting. T are grape vines loaded with grapes behind them. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The 6 pewter tankard style glasses are smooth and shiney. They have a looping handle and are quite pretty as well. T are several rings going around the centers, and the bases feature a lovely floral motif. T are some minor surface markings on a few of the glasses. They do not take away from the beauty, function or appearance of this unique set. Please see photos! The top of the barrel has an opening w you can fill and rinse the barrel. The original pewter stopper is included which has been taped in place so it doesn't get lost in the packing material. This is what you see in the photos, it is not damaged. You will also receive the original wooden stand so you may proudly display the barrel and it's glasses. This item is sure to please and quite possibly be the centerpiece of any pewter collection. DIMENSIONS: The barrel measures approximately: HEIGHT 8 inches WIDTH: 6 inches DEPTH: 8 inches deep (including spout) WEIGHT: 1 pounds 15 ounces The wooden stand measures approximately: HEIGHT: 5 inches WIDTH: 6 inches WEIGHT: 1 pound The 6 tankard style glasses each measure approximately: HEIGHT: 2 1/4 inches WIDTH: 2 1/4 inches WEIGHT: 2 ounces All measurements are taken from the highest point to the widest point, including handles, finials, flips on the lids, pour spouts and all other extentions of the piece. MANUFACTURER: The manufacturer stamp on the back of the barrel says Frieling Zinn Germany. T is an icon of a crowned rosebud surrounded by a circle. The 6 glasses are marked REIN ZINN 92%.
