Rare antique porcelain figural bowl with cherub and decorative porcelain flowers. I have never seen anything quite like this fabulous German piece! The cherub sits center on the edge of the bowl, and has the most fabulous hand painted butterfly wings. His face is hand painted with exquisite detail, well defined eye's with hand painted brows, porcelain skin with rosy cheeks, and an open mouth with peach fleshed lips. He has a pensive look on his face, maybe he's cracking the egg to his side, it looks like t is a small tool of some sort in his hand. The egg must be a holder of some sort. The hair is molded in a tousled way, and is painted with individual hair strands. Ornate porcelain flowers decorate much of the bowl around and surrounding the cherub. The porcelain bowl itself, looks like a piece of lace fabric. The pattern is very lovely, and gives the bowl such a unique look. The condition is excellent overall. The only flaws would be some chips to the flowers, and t's a chip to the bottom edge of the bowl on the backside, which is not noticed displayed, unless closely inspected. T are no flaws to the cherub. The make is German, although I'm not sure of the markers mark on the bottom base.
