RARE GERMAN PRUSSIAN ARTILLERY SWORD M1873 with Matching unit marks dtd 1915 WW1 VERY GOOD AND RARE: It has a matching unit mark on both Blade and Scabbard. Blade is Excellent. They have been together for 100 years as of 2015 (it is marked W/15 on the blade). UNIT MARK: 23.A.E.4.40. This is from the Twenty-Third Ersatz Replacement Battery, 4th Regiment, 40th Sword. Looking up this Unit in "Histories of 251 Div of the German Army in WW1" page 337-340, I found that the German Reserve 23rd Div took part in the Battle of the Somme, went to Russia in 1917, Passchendaele in 9-17 etc.. I will include a copy of its history if you want. See the last picture and read it for yourself. I also found a leather carrier strap and it is included. This is a rare item! I am selling my 30 year collection of WW1 items. Check back ocassionally.
