This German stein came from an auction in Vermont. I am unsure of it's age, any information would be greatly appreciated. I believe the words on the stein "die alten Deutschenfranken nach eins," translates to "the old German always drank one more." The stein is marked on the bottom Germany 1L. There is a number in the relief, I believe it to be 11045(6?). The stein measures 11" high. There are some cracks to the top of the handle, see the4th, 7th, and 9th pictures. There is a chip with a crack on the rim, see the 6th picture and a crack line (about 3/4" long) that can be felt inside the rim, see the last picture. It would be a nice addition to a collection.
I found a chip on the horses hoof.
Please see the last picture for the chip on the horse's hoof.
