We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with an equally large number of music boxes and other very nice collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items ! This is a fantastic Westminster Chime mantle clock that was produced about 45 years ago in "Germany." It's complete in every detail and I had hoped that one day I'd be able to spend a little time to repair it but I simply don't have any time; wish I did! This is a beauty! The case is made entirely of wood and finished in lovely blend of walnut shades. T are fancy wooden feet or supports on either side of the case extending from the front to the back. T is a goldtone metal accent bar in front and a hinged brasstone metal bezel over the dial; nice patina! The bezel holds a convex glass crystal in place over the dial; no cracks or chips that I can see. The dial has a woodtone center and a white outer edge featuring raised, fancy goldtone numerals to mark each hour and fancy metal matching hands to point out the time. T is a hinged wooden door at the very back secured with a locking metal latch that allows access to the key wind, mechanical movement. It's designed to last for eight days on a single wind. And this clock plays music too! At the quarter hour mark, the clock plays a heavenly four note melody on five goldtone metal chime bars inside the case; eight notes at the half hour mark; twelve notes at the three-quarter hour, and the full sixteen note melody at the top of each hour. It then chimes the current number of hours at the top of the hour, just like Big Ben in London! The clock works for a minute or two, sometimes longer. It does chime when the hands are moved to the quarter hour marks and it does chime at the top of the hour. Probably needs a cleaning or adjustment but like I said, time is precious for me. It would be well worth it to have this done or do it yourself since the clock is in very nice shape. I only noticed a tiny nick on the left side in front but overall, it's in very nice shape! The clock comes complete as shown with a brasstone metal pendulum and the winding key too. This clock would be a welcome addition to any collection and is certain to grace any stage you place it in. With a little work, it will shine just like the gem it is. If you like this item and I'm sure you do, then I know you'll love the other items we have listed!
