Offered for sale in a No Reserve Auction is a German Westminster Chime mantel clock. This is a tambour or camel back case that was so popular in the 1920's and 30's and remains so today. It measures 16.5 inches long by 8.5 inches high and 6 inches deep. The nice thing about a clock of this size and style is that it will go well with almost any décor and will fit on almost any shelf or mantel. The clock plays the Westminster chimes on four rods and then strikes out the hours on three of the rods. This clock is in excellent mechanical condition and the case is in very nice condition. The clock comes with the original pendulum and the proper key that fits the winding arbors well. This clock is a perfect example of German engineering, including the auto correction device. This is the device that will automatically reset the chimes if you forget to wind the clock and the chimes get out of time. Just wind the clock back up, start it, and within a few hours the chimes are back to the proper sequence. The clock also comes with the original pendulum and what I believe is the original key. The clock had a lever to silence the chimes but someone removed these items so t is no silence lever for the chimes. People ask how I can tell that the clock is German with no brand on the clock.
