Original Prussian Officer Pioneer helmet. The helmet has NCO cockades, not officer, don't know if these have been replaced or if it was originally an NCO private purchase helmet. I received it this way and decided not to tamper with it. If you want, you can be patient and get a set of Prussian Officer cockades for about $125, they show up on ebay fairly often. This Pioneer helmet is complete and fitted correctly with silver officer style: front visor trim, rossettes, front plate, spike with correct two incised lines and spike base. In addition, it is has the correct gold officer style star studs and flat chinscales. Front and rear visors are firmly attached with original stitching throughout the helmet. The post for the original star studs, like the post on the front plate, are cut off like originals should be and are the same length, I have no reason to suspect that they are replacements Original leather liner and silk liner in excellent condition, however, the silk portion is starting to separate from the leather, the stitching has come loose on the front half, but not a big deal as it stays in place with the original wire reinforcement. Front plate has some loss to the silver frosting, but is correct and original to the helmet, there are no other impressions on the front of the helmet indicating that another plate was previously attached. No extra holes behind the front plate. Leather shell is in excellent condition. Overall the helmet is in excellent condition. I am in the process of selling off a few of my WWI and WWII helmets, that I can live to part with, in effort to raise money for an adoption. Therefore, I have described and pictured in detail this helmet, which is being sold "as is". I don't want to mess around with a return, so please read and look at the pics carefully, ask whatever questions you have. Please pay within seven days at close of auction and look at my 100% positive feedback for honesty and reliability. I will ship via USPS priority mail insured for a flate rate of $20.00. Thanks To answer a couple of questions: Yes, the rear spine is silver, as it should be. All parts are original and the helmet is correct for a Pioneer configuration. Thanks.
