Now 's a neat item indeed! A nice .54 cal US 3-ring bullet (more scarce than the average .58 cal) that came from a famous bar none museum collection! The owner the late John Plank Geiselman spent his life amassing items from the old early collections such as Danner, Rosensteel, Zeigler, etc....He was also fortunate to acquire items directly from many of the Battlefield land owners. Plus he dug many of his own items long ago. Mr. Geiselman grew up in the Gettysburg area and lived t throughout his life. His love for the area never waned and he built up one of the most extensive Gettysburg collections known. Many of the items were one of a kind and some you only seen in books. This is by far the best and most impressive Gettysburg collection to be offered today. Mr. Geiselman was very meticulous and inventoried each piece on a master list. Most of the items were labeled individually as well. Often the information contained the location of recovery, and other notable history. The Provenance is simply the best you can get! I was fortunate enough to be able to procure a number of these items from the prestigious shop-The Horse Soldier, located in the town of Gettysburg. This well known respected shop had exclusive rights to this museum collection. They have been kind enough to provide two page detailed LETTERS OF AUTHENTICITY / PROVENANCE to accompany these items to their patrons.
Now 's your chance to get your hands on pieces from this Best of the Best collection! Furthermore, this bullet came from one of the most infamous areas of the whole Gettysburg Battlefield-Little Round Top! No doubt, Little Round Top is probably the best known area of the whole Battlefield. So many men made courageous stands on this little hill! So many lost their lives doing so. And others that have survived have been immortalized, such as Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain and the 20th Maine. On July 2, 1863, many believe that if Chamberlain would've lost his stance on this rocky knoll, the Battle of Gettysburg would have been lost to the Union and the whole outcome of the entire Civil War could've been in jeopardy. Chamberlain and his men fought the most desperate fight of their lives against Oates and the 15th Alabama. After running out of ammunition, they made a last ditch effort to hold the flank by making a daring Bayonet Charge. The Confederates were completely stunned and ran "like a herd of cattle." This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! These pieces will grace the best collections out t and add significantly to their value! Don't miss out, many pieces are limited or one of a kind. Mr. Geiselman displayed many of his items in the museum on china plates or in wood cases. This bullet is from a large case of artifacts from Devils Den and Little Round Top. The case was divided by these 2 areas with engraved tags identifying the area of recovery as well as the name of the person who originally found them. Plus the shop has provided a 3-pg LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY! The embossed Letter describes the items in detail, w they were found, and then proceeds to the history of this amazing collection, plus on the 3rd page is a scanned picture of the case. Please note the blocked out parts on the letter picture (on this auction page) are just to protect privacy and were done on the computer. Due to the fact that the items in the case are being sold individually-NO Original Letter or Letter Copy will be provided. Sorry NO COPIES provided! You are bidding on a mushroomed bullet Little Round Top to be offered out of this case only! Please use this auction page as your provenance. The pictures have been enlarged for just that reason-please take the time to load them and read through them. Please keep an eye on our auctions as we offer these rare pieces and check out our other auctions for more RARE Civil War Gettysburg and Antietam items. Good Luck Bidding! Bid with Confidence! NO RESERVE!!! Winning Bidder to pay ship/insurance (if desired), we will happily combine multiple auctions to save you money! We also accept all forms of Payp...
