As most of you know, Chubs almost never reach 4", because they are very early Megs, or arguably, very late Angustidens, and as such, 4" is huge for an early Miocene shark. Much like 6" is the magic number for Megs, 4" is the number for Chubs, and once you hit 4", every 16th of an inch over 4" increases the rarity almost exponentially, and to find a 5" Chub, well, it would be similar to a near 7" Meg. So, enter this amazing NC Chub! An almost unbelievable 5 1/8" by 4.25" wide! It's a "Red" site NC tooth, that I absolutely believe to be a giant, very early Miocene Chub, and 's why.
