Authorized and struck by The Washington Mint, this Giant Silver Eagle is number 1213 in a limited edition. Duplicating the design of the U.S. Silver Eagle coin, it bears the beautiful image of Lady Liberty in front of the rays of a rising or setting sun on the front side along with the words LIBERTY IN GOD WE TRUST and the date 1986. On the back side, it bears the image of the fierce American Eagle along with an inverted pyramid of 13 stars (for the 13 original colonies) and the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1 TROY POUND FINE SILVER .999. The side is ridged except for a smooth spot bearing the engraved number 01213. This plastic-sealed giant proof Silver Eagle is in mint condition and measures 3-1/2 inches in diameter by approximately 1/4 inch thick. It comes in a velvet presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity from The Washington Mint and has been kept in a smoke-free home.
