I don't want to do it, but I'm selling my Gibson. This is a beautiful old mandolin that plays and sounds amazing. The serial number on the label is 9508 which dates the instrument to the early 1900's. All original case, pickguard, tail piece and tuners. The frets, however, have been replaced with banjo frets. The banjo frets give it better intonation and playability. Look at the pictures and feel free to ask any questions. I have the mandolin for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells. This is one amazing mandolin and you won't be disapointed. I've had a ton of questions about this mando. Yes it's a player; pull it out of the original case with the leather handle with all the clasps that work just fine, tune it up and play it. The action is good top to bottom. There are nicks and scratches (it's a hundred years old), ask for the original pics to be emailed to you and you can get a better look at the instrument. The sound is amazing. whenever I pull this out people can't believe the sound, it's too good and I'm not that great a player for the attention it attracts. I'd rather pull out my cheapy Kentucky and plunk along in the background. I've had the mando about ten years and always kept it in the case with the strings relaxed.
