The Gibson GK-55 is an electric guitar manufactured by The Gibson Guitar Corporation in kalamazoo michigan in 1978. Description The GK-55 is basically a stripped-down model based on the 1955 Gibson Les Paul, before they went to the les paul special. It is a flat-top 55 body style, mahogany, two humbuckers, serial #71359115 A real sought after collectible....."The GK-55 is basically a stripped-down model based on the 1955 Gibson Les Paul , before they went to the les paul special. It is a flat-top 55 body style, dark sunburst, two "T top" humbuckers , no binding, dot inlays, and a bolt on neck. These were made in the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, MI in 1979. One volume control, two tone controls, and a fourth switch for coil tapping. A three way switch too. It came with the humbucking pickups. Mahogany body with a rosewood fingerboard.
