------------------------------------------The Kenpo Karate Ed Parker Knife---------------------------------------------------- The Knife is from December 1981(12-81-is on the Blade) and made of 440C with a 7 7/8 "Inches Blade and 13 6/8 "Inches OVL.................................Very nice Ivory Micarta Handle...............................................comes inclusive original handmade brown Leather Sheath,of course made by Gil Hibben ..............The Blade is marked with the Kenpo Crest and 12-81.....................Brass Guard and Butt................................The Knife is marked -- Louisville,KY -- ................................................................................................................... In 1968 Gil designed the Kenpo Knife (sometimes called the Ed Parker Fighting Knife) for his black belt thesis on knife fighting using Kenpo tactics. His thesis became the basis of the Kenpo system's Long Form VIII (the double dagger form) which uses two knives in mock combat.)
