A.C. Gilbert American Flyer Kaster Kit Lead Elephant Mould Mold #7Kaster Kit was a line of toy soldier and figure lead molds offered by the same company that offered Erector Sets, American Flyer Trains, and a host of other fascinating toys. Kaster Kits were offered for sale during the 1930's, and included many other molds and actual heating units to cast the figures, to see an original brochure please This is mold #7 Elephant , it's considered a flat figure when compared to the round molds which were 3-dimensional, it's about 1 1/2" high, the mold is about 2 1/2 " x 2 3/4" and was meant to be used with one of the casting sets but can be used with just a standard bullet type melting pot just as well, mold is fine with nothing cracked or broken, both halves fit nice and tight, the mold has very nice detail which makes for a nice looking elephant, if you are going to cast you'll need to "smoke" the mold before doing so, I'm including castings for four complete figures but they will need to be cleaned up, the painted figure is not included but shown to indicate how nice this figure looks when painted, there is no box.Overall a nice mold, one of the more harder figures to find.
