Hi everybody. I am offering here another train set I've inherited which is part of a LARGE A.C. Gilbert American Flyer S scale train collection. I'm not an expert in antique/classic trains but I do know some of the basics of model railroading ( I'm a dedicated HO scale modeler), so I will do the best I can to describe the condition of the items and let the pictures tell the rest. This auction is for the American Flyer Passenger Set including 21551 engine along with 24843, 24846, 24849, and 24853 cars. All items have their original boxes, except it looks like the engine box could be borrowed from a different unit. 21551 NP Diesel is C7+ condition. It is complete w/ no broken steps, horn present, couplers work well, paint, lettering and decals excellent. It looks like it has been apart once or twice for cleaning, due to some bends around and near the square hole in the bottom of engine between the trucks (should be visible in pics). Unit ran just a LITTLE bit on my test track, but barely, and with some pushing. It definitely needs a major cleaning at least. All 4 Passenger Cars are in similar (C7) condition from what I can tell. They DO NOT have lights, so hopefully they are not supposed to. All couplers work and I don't see any broken or cracked parts. No window glass is pushed in, though some is a bit foggy looking.
