This is a Gilbert black mantel clock, and it’s in running condition. It is an 8 day clock. A key is included. It strikes the hours on a spiral gong. It also strikes once on the half-hour on a separate bell. There's a "1910" stamped into the back of the movement, and this may be the year it was made. It is approximately 17-1/2” wide x 12-1/2” high x 7" deep. Note that 3 of the pillars or columns are loose, but are included with the clock (see last picture). Also, 3 of the cast metal bottom supports for the columns are missing, and they are not included with this auction because I don't have them. Note that the brass part of the dial is heavily corroded, but could possibly be cleaned or polished. Although it is running and striking the hours properly now, it will need cleaning and oiling sometime in the future as this hasn't been done in a long time.
