Up for sale is this beautiful and vintage 1930 - 1931 A.C. Gilbert Number A Erector "The Set that builds the Super Locomotive" Box. Selling box only. This box is a great piece of early Train and Erector set history. It has dovetail corners with brass hinges, handles, latches, and corner guards. On the inside of the Lid it has a large graphic that is a sticker as big as the inside of the lid showing the Erector Locomotive with number 5200 on the cab. Box is in great physical condition. No broken wood. Hinges work and so do the clamps that keep lid closed. Hinges have some surface rust, and other metal parts have some patina, not sure if you will want to clean them but I will leave it to you. There was some sort of decal on top of the box that is gone, but you can see the imprint in the paint. Box is approximately 22 1/2 inches long, 10 1/2 inches wide and 5 /12 inches tall. Weighs almost 6 pounds. Great old estate auction find, all I know about this box is in this description. Must have is you have this Locomotive and no box, or if you collect the Erector sets. See my other items or my Model Trains Category in my store for some great great Lionel Trains and accessories from this estate Auction I recently attended. Most Postwar, will have some Standard Gauge shortly, and some in original boxes. I am no train expert so you will need read more
