For your consideration is this Gillette New Standard razor set complete with razor,blade box And case. The razor has the serial number 349295B which would date it to 1923.This model of Gillette razor was introduced in 1921 and contained several technological improvements over the original Gillette razor. Among these are a fulcrum shoulder on the razor guard which along with the pressure exerted by the razor cap held the blade more securely. The teeth on the comb guard are thicker and better shaped than on the original razor.The razor is heavier and has a thicker handle with an Art Deco diamond pattern on it.This is a silver plated razor which disassembles to place the blade in the razor. The razor is in very good used condition with some small scratches as you would expect to see.These razors are fantastic shavers and produce a first class shave when used with todays double edged blades.The black leather covered case is in excellent condition.No rips or tears on the leather or on the satin and velvet linings inside the case. T is one indentation on the top corner of the case as if something was pressed against it for a long period of time.The blade case is chrome plated.
