I'm often thinking about what the scene before me looked like in the 1940s or back to the 1800's. There's a large unwelcomed shift here from fishing communities to full on tourist communities with not many year round opportunities. This shift and the struggle between the locals and the tourists can be seen in the landscape of many towns here today.� I love color & large shapes, I'm just as happy mixing and painting a bright yellow piece of light on the side of a barn as I am working out a composition in pen and ink to make sure I get the proper shape relations.
