FAMILY ITEM--NOT A RESALE----These Girl Scout items belonged to my late wife's mother (b. abt. 1920), and were in a attic box that contained all of Uncle Larry's Boy Scout items that are also now listed.

The WELL WORN "Scouting for Girls" manual is the 1926 edition and inside shows that Grandma passed her Tenderfoot test on 5-12,1927 and her Second Class on 6-8-28 and was a member of the Dora Wood Troop #2. I belived that she was living in Buffalo, N.Y. at that time before moving to CA. On page 555 it lists the officers for 1926 and, interestingly notes Honorary Pres. Mrs. Calvin Coolidge, Honoray V.P.s Mrs. Preston (formerly Mrs. Grover Cleveland, Mrs. William Taft, Mrs. Woodrow Wilson and Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt. First Vice-Present is Mrs. Herbert Hoover. VERY SELECT COMPANY BY ANY HISTORICAL ERA! One current First Lady and 5 former First Ladies.

Also, there is a WELL WORN 1926 "Girl Scout Songs" Book. There is a metal kerchief slide in great condition and a ring also in wonderful condition. I have no idea of the ring size but is stamped OB 10K and is gold. (I do not know if the patches are old or if my wife may have added to them to the box. She was a scout in the early 50's. There is also a friendship pin that was surely my wife's.

MORE ITEMS & PHOTOS JUST ADDED 2/3/11--I just found and added more items to this listing...Grandma's GS belt, achievement records (1928-30), dozens of group & camp photos. Also, several scrapbook pages of newspaper articles. Grandma was in some pretty fine company as she got to meet First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. "Miss Irene Dobson, a Golden Eaglet, was selected to present to Mrs.Roosevelt a nosegay from the Glendale Scouts.
