Great guitar with a strong and bright sound great for gypsy jazz. Very versatile neck allowing various styles to be achieved. (Pretty much plays itself) Many Gitane guitars come out of their workshop in very poor playable condition and require lots of attention upon purchase, but I was lucky with this one and have managed to get the best out of it by only using basic set up techniques. Comes complete with moulded case with a lock. Minor scratches on the back that would buff out if needs be (pictures above), apart from that, no damage at all. Solid spruce soundboard Rosewood back and sides Horizontal cutaway Multiple ebony/maple purfling on all edges Characteristic large "D" soundhole Moustache bridge with movable center Thin, comfortable, bound mahogany neck Dovetail neck/body joint Slotted headstock with rosewood overlay Extended 24-fret ebony fingerboard Mother-of-pearl dot markers 12-fret neck joint Scale length 25 1/4 inch Nut width 1 7/8 inch Body length 18 1/2inch Lower bout 16 inch Upper bout 11 1/4 inch Geared 14:1 ratio, gold-plated tuning machines Adjustable truss rod Trapeze tail-piece High-gloss finish with ageing toner for vintage look Bone nut, zero fret. Hope she goes to a good home.
