GLANO is the maker of this fine Rock Crystal 8MM prism faceted rounded beads that adorn this rosary. The depth in the beads cuts are facinating. Look at the close up photos, and you can get an idea of the beauty of this rosary. The measurements are 25" long, 36" circumference, and 7" drop. The crucifix is 2" by 1 1/8". It is stamped Glano & Sterling Silver. The raised Corpus is not as large as some other crucifixes, however that never stops an item from being the one that makes the grade or not. I do love large crucifixes, however the rest of the rosary makes up for the smaller crucifix. The medal after the crucifix is different, in so much as the initials on the Virgin Mary's Profile Side has these initials: QBC (my guess would be Quebec, Canada?) but I am not an expert. I have not seen that on a medal like this before. The weight is heavier then most of the medals that I do see. This one appears to be sterling, unmarked, or nickel wash. The reverse is the Grotto at Lourdes. The center medal is older then most of them that I do recall, but this one is very different. If you look at the photos, I don't know if it will show up that well from a scanner, you can see every detail on the medal of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Even the holes in His Hands from the nails on the cross. The detail work is beautiful and very painstakenly done to exact proportions and workmanship, and on the reverse side is Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, with Baby Jesus in Her arms. Beautiful, passionate, thoughtful, and particularly paid a lot of attention to every detail that can be mentioned. The fancy extenders on the rosary (14 in all) are exact and very well captured. The beads have double caps on the top & bottom of the beads for added strength. I don't see anything that is missing on the rosary, for it certainly has more items and detail then most, and the beauty and accuracy is amazing. This rosary will be someone's favorite rosary and they will carry it with them forever. The passing down from one generation to another generation, has always been a favorite with me. I would love to know the history behind a lot of the rosaries that I sell. Unfortunately, most people are not as inquisitive as I am, or they do not mention to me that they have the same passion. A few have lately, but then I find it amazing that I am not the only one who feels this way. Good luck bidding :) Find the peace and happiness that you deserve.
