You are bidding on a 1938, 24 page, pamphlet or brochure, describing the "The Clan Line Steamers Limited, The Worlds Largest Cargo Carrying Line". This pamphlet is mounted in a blue cover jacket. The front cover reads, "The Clan Steamers Limited, Managers Cayzer,Irvine & Co Ltd., 1878 - 1938, Empire Exhibition Glasgow, 1938. The pamphlet describes the capabilities of the company, it's primary shipping routes (South Africa), List of ships sailing, some pictures of their ships and their ships being loaded with large or unique cargo. The Clan line was one of the largest cargo and passenger carriers of the early to mid 1900's. Many of the Companies ships served in WW 1 and WW 2. So many of Clan Line ships (and seaman) were requisitioned by the British government they were known as the "Scots Navy." This is a rare and unique brochure for the historical collector of the Clan Line material or vintage Exposition pamphlets. The outside blue jacket is 8" X 10" and lightly soiled, right lower corner dog eared, edges a little frayed. T are no rips or tares. The gold printing has faded but is readable, the scanned photo makes it look brighter than it really is. T are pencil initials at top "TJS". Rear of cover is blank. The pamphlet is 7X 9 +1/2". For whatever technical reason my scanner has created "blotches or small circles/rings on some of the pages I scanned. All the pages in the pamphlet are clear. The pamphlet has a green and white background, pictures are all black and white, some of the ship pictures were colored with black/red inks to improve printing quality The pamphlet is stapled together. T are no torn, loose or soiled pages. I have tried to describe this item honestly and carefully Please look at pictures provided.. If you have any questions please ask the before bidding. I will ship free to USA only. I will ship to international bidders to locations accepted by USPS but you must pay USPS international postal rates and any customs charges. I also highly recommend insurance on International. Thanks for looking at a unique and collectable item.
