This is a near mint pair of Scottish Great War medals named to "202228 F. McClusky, H.L.I.". These are the only medals that Francis McClusky was entitled to. McClusky was a member of the 9th Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry, also known as the GLASGOW HIGHLANDERS. His serial number falls within the GH range of 1917 serial numbers.

Better than that is his "little red book" given to him upon his discharge from the army. His red book documents state that he served in France from June 15, 1917 to Jan 18, 1918 and finally discharged from the army on June 26, 1918. Documents state that McClusky was due two wound stripes and lost his right arm which was the reason for his ultimate discharge. Little red book documents are in very fine condition along with employment card for discharged soldiers and two postcards all three of which are tucked into a side pocket of the red book. Somew around Passchendaele is most likely w McClusky was so badly wounded.
