Presented for auction is a wonderful, old antique SHOW GLOBE APOTHECARY JAR, circa late 1800's...decorated with DAKOTA THUMBPRINT top & bottom, and a wide 1 1/2" DIAMOND BAND pattern around the neck. These show globes were typically found in Drug Stores, Ice Cream/Soda Shops, or the General Store. It stands a very tall 13 1/2" high, with a 5 3/4" wide base, and 3 5/8" wide opening at the top. The glass is CRYSTAL CLEAR & SPARKLING BRIGHT...take a look at the PANORAMIC VIEW of the garden as you gaze into the pot belly of this stunning show globe...AWESOME! They are not as noticeable when the top is one, so I have shown both views so you can get a good idea. And since they are close to one another, the jar can be turned around, so they are not in view. The outer edge of the top rim of the top has flea biting all around. The pot belly/show globe itself is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, as you can see...its CIRCUMFERENCE is 22 1/2" (with 2 seams), offering very generous space for whatever you would like to fill it with...or a fabulous display piece just as it is. T is very, very light outer wear...and all the usual old mould markings from the glassmaking read more
