Glass fluted Cartier Inkwell, hinged gilt top, Cartier symbol stamped on glass. Purchased approximately 25 years ago at Cartier, Hong Kong. As you can see from the photos, the lid doesn't quite close properly (hinge probably needs to be oiled) - apart from this, it's in near perfect condition. These sell at Christies for between £100-£150 so this is a bargain price.
