This is a dazzling ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT It measures 2 1/2" tall x 4" diameter. The base is 2 1/4" in diameter and is ground, polished and flat. The paperweight weighs 1 3/4 pounds. The paperwight is made from crystal clear colorless glass. Withinthis clear glass, the bottom ~1/3 has deep cobalt transparent glass - it almost feels opaque, it is so intense. Suspended over this cobalt (separated from the cobalt ~ 1/2") is a lovely floating flower of shades of intense orange/vermillion - an eyecatching use of complementary colors. WOW !! The flower is a starburst of layered petals, tightly overlapping each other, yet the individual petals have little twists and variations on them - just like a real flower! It looks very much like either a dahlia, a chrysanthemum or maybe some sort of a daisy. The edges of the petals have lighter orange/gold streaks,adding definition to each petal and visually creating a ridge/curl on each petal - such nice detail!! The interior of the petals are more intensely streaked in darker gold, oranges, vermillions, not just plain orange. Each petal has a concave inward bend, like it is a newly opened fresh flower, but the tips of each petal then bends outward convexly. Again, very lifelike! The center of the flower has a tiny yellow/red/white MILLEFIORI, surrounded by even tinier cobalt/white MILLEFIORI. This bit of cobalt color visually ties the flower with the cobalt at the base. T are Bubbles at the intersections of the overlaps of petals . It is like they are just ready to pop out from below the petals and float upwards to the surface of the glass. The light catches them beautifully, adding little gleams of sparkles throught - a really pretty effect. Between the bubbles and the curvature of the piece, this was really hard to photograph, so please bear with the reflections. The glass is highly polished, solid and very smooth. T are no chips, cracks, etc. This is a very eyecatching paperweight. The intensity of the colors POPS! But then you take a closer look and see a lovely, delicate flower! It would make a wonderful addition to your paperweight collection, a nice, colorful accent piece, perfect for a desktop and of course, a wonderful gift. We are a non-smoking home. Insurance is required . I package really well ( never had a broken item), but since I cannot control what happens to your package on the way to your house/office once I've left it at the Post Office (accidents happen, packages get lost), it is for both our protection. I am happy to combine items for postal savings if items are won/paid for within 2 days of each other. I do request that you let me know of your intent to bid on additional item(s) so I won't start packaging your first-won item(s). T are times when items should not/cannot be combined for various reasons: difference in dimensions of items (especially when items are heavy), difference in weight of items, breakable/fragile items that require additional inner packing material to protect from each other (this packing material adds more weight), unusually-shaped items, the size of box required (once a certain size box is reached, Post Office costs go up exponentially), combining media items w/ non-media items, etc. Each situation must be determined individually - my ultimate goal is to have you receive ALL of your items SAFELY and at the LOWEST COST. Total Shipping will be based on the final weight of the package. Feedback is ALWAYS given once I know your item has been received and all is OK.
