Glendale Station / Gilbert News Company Stand by A. C. Gilbert American Flyer. This big news stand / station is 12" x 4" and 4-1/2" tall. Really detailed vintage graphics with magazine covers, newspaper headlines, and great authentic vintage advertising for Pepsi, Old Gold, and RKO. This is a true barn sale find, in as-found condition, and as such it's a little musty/dusty (authentic patina?). It has suffered a little damage along its way. (Please view the images carefully for accurate condition). Some of the lithos have been lost, and there are a couple of cracks in the walls. (See the center next to the clock and the right rear corner). There is a long fabric-covered wire coiled up inside the stand, and it looks like there is a light socket inside as well. Overall it is solid with really neat graphics and detail. Good news update: we found the RKO poster that goes on the back of the stand, and it is included in this lot as pictured! (We will not attempt to restore it to its place, but it is in nice shape).
