Glidden Pottery Bowl designed by Fong ChowThis bowl is # 17 and measures approximately 4 1/2" in height, and 8" x8" square. It is marked on bottom: " Glidden 17" and bears the ram's head mark. This is the Charcoal & Rice Art Line designed by Fong Chow in 1953. This line won the Good Design awards at the Museum of Modern Art in NY and in Los Angeles. This bowl is pictured in the Glidden Catalog from the Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art ( p. 58 ). It is in MINT condition with no wear, chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. This is not a Glidden piece you see very often. Please note that photo # 2 is brightness adjusted to illustrate the subtle ribbing on corners.
