It is our pleasure to present, for your consideration, this fabulous Globe Wernicke Oak Five-Stack Barrister Bookcase (Circa: early 1900's). This handsome bookcase has a rich original lovely finish, weighs approximately 100 pounds, and measures 64 ¾" in height, 34" in width, and 12 ½" in depth. It is in excellent condition for its age! The original intact Globe Wernicke labels are found in each of the five stacks. Four of the Globe Wernicke labels read Size D-8 ½, Grade 299 and the stacks in which these four labels are found have the following inside measurements: 32" long by 8" tall by 9 ½" deep. The label on the remaining stack reads Pattern 110 Grade 299 and the inside measurements of this stack are 32" long by 10" tall by 9 ½" deep. This bookcase breaks down into seven (7) pieces for shipping purposes. The seven pieces include the top, the five stacks, and the base. It is handsome and ready for many years of service in your home or office! Novice antique collectors should be aware that any antique over 100 years old will have some type(s) of slight or minor imperfections or marks of character. It is exactly these time-acquired features that intrigue collectors to ponder about how the piece must have been used and by whom. Such marks of use and character only add to the authenticity, charm, and desirability of the piece.
