Gloria ~ The name alone sends shivvers down my spine. If you were around when these lovely rosaries came out, you would probably know what I mean. They were advertised as the most gorgeous, and the most wanted rosaries to be had at that time. If you did not have a Gloria Rosary, then you did not know what it was like to own and possess the best of the best. But to me, all rosaries are meant for one thing, and for one thing only ~ praying. No matter what the rosary, that is someone's choice and it is their preference to have what they want to pray with, and put medals onto the rosary just like you do to the Generals, the more medals, the prouder the General. But in essence it is still a rosary with a name that just happened to get around via telecommunication. Like telephone, telegraph, and tell a woman. That is how Gloria made their name a household word. Anyway, you are now privy to some very positively (dog double dare you to say that again) growing up with Leave It To Beaver and the Nelson's Family on TV. Fads, were becoming "the thing" to do, or to see or to get. If you catch my drift. Anyway, enough of the 50's and back into the present......if they only had the technology and the know how to keep a story on top of everything else. My Gloria's that I will be keeping, which I believe the last time that I looked, are 2. But it is not because it is a Gloria, or is it? Getting back to the meat and potatoes, this rosary is 24 1/2" long, with a drop of 7 1/2" and a circumference of 34". The weight is 76 grams!!! Not bad for a cut crystal, seeing as the rock crystal is the one that weighs more then the rest. This rosary is so beautiful in person that you will want to put this one up with the rosaries that you don't want to lose, or misplace, or have someone take it because it is just that precious. The rosary is the XBox Cut, or the Cubed look, with the many facets on the beads to capture a lot of different colors. The cuts on the beads also do tell quite a story in their own way, as that is how a diamond is cast. The whole rosary is all sterling silver, the crucifix 2" by 1 1/4" raised Corpus, Starburst Nimbus, Fleur de Leys, diamond cut for extra beauty and grace. The cut-out design of the cross makes it the choice of the people who designed this one. This is by far probably the most liked of all the crucifixes in the rosary business. The back is stamped GLORIA, sterling silver, as is the center medal on the rosary, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the front with the vastly ornate beauty of the (top of the crop) medal. It too has the stamp of Gloria, and sterling silver. The chain, the twist double capped strong beads, also are sterling. You may as well say that everything except the stones being the cut crystals are all sterling silver. This is important when you want to get the best. The aurora borealis sets this off to make it the "king of rosaries", in the style, shape, size, weight, tell tale important information on the rosary and etc. etc. Now that you know almost everything that you would like to know, now you can purchase the rosary for your own collection. Please let me know if you desire any more photos, scans, or information on this gorgeous rosary, and I will do my best to accommodate your wishes. God bless, and good luck.
