Auction is for a beautiful 9 1/2" tall Teapot, 11" serving plate, and 6-6" dessert GLORIA plates with lustre finish, red roses, and blue flowers. They are all surrounded with an ornate filigree gold design and trimmed with a gold rim. The back shows a green mark that has a crown with A W in it and under that is a spire that comes out of a bowl or pot with Czecho-Slawakia (spelled exactly as listed) underneath. It has no chips, cracks or crazing and no usage marks on it. There is some wear to the gold on the handle and spout of the teapot but it does not detract from its beauty. Totally beautiful and the vivid colors on plate will simply enhance any room. I sent a picture by email of the teapot and mark to The Porcelain Manufactory Gloria who manufactured this set and received the following reply Dear Mary Santangelo, yes this coffeepot was produced by us, it's very old, we don't know exactly but it must been produced between 1920 and 1930.Thank you for you mail, Best wishes, Horst Weidl Anton Weidl KG Gloria The Porcelain Manufactory GLORIA is a family-run business and was founded in Altrohlau near Karlsbad (today Czech Republic) in 1920 by Mr. Anton Weidl - the father of today's owner.
