Bernard Gerstner, Rochester NY and Cape Ann (Rocky Neck) is one of the famous watercolor painters around the Cape Ann area. He is painter noted for crisp color and design in his paintings. He is a painter, teacher and demonstrator. The subjects he gets a opportunity to paint surrounds him on beautiful Cape Ann. Many of his painting trips and workshops have his work extolling the beauty of all New England as well as New York state. Gerstner holds memberships to the Rockport Art Association, Boston Watercolor Society, Academic Artists, North shore Arts Association, Rochester Art Club, International Marine Painters Association and New England Watercolor Society. This watercolor done in and around the 1950's is the perfect example of a harbor scene on old Cape Ann with a sailboat and a old row boat tied to the shoreline and in the background is a lobster boat.
