This is a PAIR of Original 1950s - 1960s Greyhound GM Scenicruiser Tin Toy Bus Models . One is a PD-4905 Super Scenicruiser and the other is (more or less) a PD 4104 Highway Traveler or Scenicruiser. Both were Made in Japan, are in excellent condition and are 6" long. All the Greyhound logos and dogs are faithfully reproduced. Toy #1 : This is a 4905 Super Scenicruiser made in the 1950s by SSS in Japan. It's nicely detailed but SSS decided to give it only two axles instead of three. The engine grilles, "Scenicruiser" name, bright shiny bumper and hubcaps are all authentic and the dog on the sides is in raised relief. Condition is excellent with some small scratches but t aren't any dents and nothing is missing. The black chassis paint at the rear is worn away, probably from toy drivers trying to go up driveways that were too steep! The friction motor works well and the rubber tires are excellent. The PD-4501 Scenicruiser was coach built by General Motors Truck & Coach Division exclusively for Greyhound, starting in 1954. It was powered originally by two GM Detroit Diesel 4-71 engines because no V8 Detroit was yet available. All the coaches were later repowered with 8V-71s by Marmon-Herrington. Toy #2 : This is a 4104 Scenicruiser from the 1960s. At least the front and sides look like a 4104, but the rear looks more like a PD 4106 read more
