Up for auction is a beautiful Goebel Gunther R. Granget "On the Prowl" figurine. The bottom reads "On the Prowl, by Gunther R. Granget, Limited Edition No. 063 of 250, Goebel W. Germany 1979". The bottom of this figurine was personally signed by the artist, Gunther R. Granget. The artists name is also incised into one of the branches the bird is standing on. Including it's wooden base, this figurine stands 9 and 3/4" high. It is about 4" deep, and about 9" wide. It has no chips, cracks, or crazing. GUNTHER GRANGET has devoted his life to becoming the world's leading sculptor of birds in porcelain. Gunther Granget grew up with nature. As a young boy, he would take field trips with his father into the Black Forest, learning to identify birds by their colors and calls. This exquisite series has been three years in the making, during which time Granget traveled to three continents for extensive observation, sketching and filming. Beautiful, vintage Goebel piece of art in mint condition! Item will be very carefully wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and cushioned with several inches of packaging material. Shipping insurance is required on this item. If winning bidder is in a country that does not allow shipping insurance, seller cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur in transit.
