GOEBEL MINIATURE COMPANY ROBERT OLSZEWSKI'S MINIATURE HUMMEL FIGURINES THE "COLLECTOR'S SERIES" =============================================== You are bidding on three bronze miniature collectible Hummels, designed and handsculpted by Robert Olszewski, using the "lost wax process" form of art. The mini Hummels offered in this auction were created exclusively for the Goebel Miniature Company as unique collector pieces solely offered to members of the Goebel Collector Club during the issue years of 1983-1988 as an incentive for members to renew their membership or as an incentive for new subscribers to the club. The miniature bronze figurines are entitled "Valentine Gift", "What Now?" and "Honey Lover". They are Item Numbers are 248-P, 249-P, and 247-P, respectively and each measure approximately 1/2" to 3/4" in height. These figurines were designed by Robert Olszewski as a "two-fold" collectible, meaning that each piece of the Collector series was designed to have a special feature; as "multi-purpose miniatures". These works of art could each be displayed individually as a stand alone miniature figurine or the figurine could remain encased in its jewelry cage and worn as pendants. The design of each jewelry cage allowed the collector to remove one small screw located at the lower part of the pendant's cage. This allowed each bronze piece to be easily removed, creating the stand alone miniature Hummel figurine. It is not recommended that owners of these pieces to constantly interchange the figurine from stand alone to pendant and vice versa as the figurine is sculpted of bronze, but the screw is made of steel and could easily wear away the threads of the pendant. By Olszewski's design, each figurine in the Collector's Series could be easily added to the Kinderway Hummel Miniature Collection as shown in the stock photo, displayed with a penny to show their sizes. The figurines are slightly smaller than the Kinderway Bavarian Hummels, but the quality remains. (see additional photo of the Kinderway Collection with these Collector Series figurines). Similarly designed, each Collector Series figurine is made of bronze and meticulous painted as only Olszewski's talented comrades can accomplish. Each figurine will be accompanied with their brown velvet boxes.
