This actual meteorite specimen was found by the world famous Arizona hunting team of Twink Monrad and the late Professor Jim Kriegh Jim Kriegh/Twink Monrad finds from the historic Arizona strewnfield In 1995 an Arizona gold prospector, Jim Kriegh, discovered ancient stone meteorites in Mohave County, AZ. His friend Twink Monrad joined him in the hunt and they spent years carefully documenting their finds. Gold Basin has been described as "one of best mapped strewnfields in history." Jim passed away in 2007 and these highly collectible Arizona meteorites were found personally by the Kriegh/Monrad team in the late 1990s. Chondrules are small grain-like sps which occur in chondrites (hence their name), the most common type of meteorite, but also the oldest known type of rocks âe" older even than our own planet.
