This is a 1855O One dollar gold coin. Otherwise known as the Indian Head Princess(small head). This is a rare find not only because of the age of the coin, but also because there were only 55,000 minted . RARE!! In addition to the low mintage numbers this coin is in beautiful shape. The rims on both sides of the coin are exquisite as well as the rest of the coin. The headdress, the curls of the hair, USA, all are protruding and well defined. Im suprised myself she's in this good of shape. On the back all is the same, The wreath and rim are both blemish free. The "8" in the date has been worn down a little, but can be see fine with a loupe, or magnifier. On the bottom of the coin where the "O" is stamped there are some slight scratches, but overall condition of this coin is BEAUTIFUL! I hate to part with this coin as my grandfather left it to me, but unfortunately tough times call for tough decisions. This will make a valuable asset to anyones collection. I hope the pictures do this coin justice as its hard to really appreciate the condition without having some sort of magnifier. Good Luck and !!
