A VICTORIAN 18ct BRIGHT yellow gold (tested at, at least 18ct gold could be higher) GARNET, TURQUOISE AND RUBY NECKLACE/PENDANT modelled as an entwined snake, with three turquoise to its head, ruby eyes and a garnet cabochon drop suspended from its mouth, 6.7cm or 67mm long that is not including the bail. Both the bail and chain are modern and are 9ct gold. The bail can easily be removed and replaced (by hand). The chain weighs approximately 0.9grams and is approximately 16" in length. The pendant weighs approximately 5.4grams (it flickered between 5.4 and 5.7) (i used a digital gold scale) The detail on the snake is quite outstanding as you can see from the photographs. What you can not see as I ran out of photograph space is that the pendant is flat on the back and in very good order. If you wish to see this photo please just ask and I will send it to you. There is damage to the snake. I have enlarged the photographs so that you can see the two damaged areas. These can both be fixed by a competent jeweller easily. The first is that it is missing one ruby eye and the second is a small split to the gold near the neck (it looks allot worse than it is!). There is a difference in colour between the turquoise stones but this is to be expected with such an old piece of jewelry and in my opinion only serves to improve the beauty. PLEASE read more
