This particular set is one of only two sets I have seen that were produced in the hollow slush mold grey metal media. This set is a must for anyone seeking to build a collection of character bookends, and especially if you are seeking out Armor made pieces. This set can truly be considered to be in mint condition. The bright gold gilding is like new all over. The set is embossed with the Armor logo on the back sides and the original felts and foil labels are still attached to the bottoms. I will let the pictures tell the story on this set, but I guarantee these are old and completely original. These will be ideal for the high end serious Collector and Bookend Enthusiast whom is seeking the very finest and rarest of Armor Bronze pieces. These bookends are listed and rated by LOUIS KURITZKY in his Collectorâe(tm)s Encyclopedia of Bookends and the authors also state they have only seen this set and one other set that was made in the grey metal style.. This set could have very well been one of the last sets Armor produced . Displayed books are not a part of the auction. Because of the rarity of this set they will be priced at a Buy it Now Price with Option to Make Offers. PLEASE VIEW MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE IF YOU ARE A HIGH END COLLECTOR LOOKING FOR THE FINEST CONDITION INVESTMENT GRADE CAST METAL ITEMS. BUYING HINTS FOR EBAY CUSTOMERS Note: Persons seeking investment grade antiques and collectibles should consider the following Seek out overall undamaged BEST CONDITION items. Seek out the best original finish with no repairs, paint touch ups, or repaints. Seek out signed items which are much easier to research and sell at later dates. Research items prior to bidding to avoid impulse bidding. Watch out for vague descriptions or innuendoes of higher value. Ask Ebay sellers for clear precise additional pictures if unable to determine looks. Watch out for descriptions with ? question marks behind them. Ask the seller!!!! Avoid sellers with no return/as-is policies with no course of action with problems. Seek items that are not hybridized with added pieces to make item appear to have greater values. (Example: avoid certain bookends that have had the original bases changed from metal to marble, etc.)10. REMEMBER : If it is broke or damaged the item will have very little value for resale unless it is a one of a kind item. If the item is something the collector wants to buy and keep, then the price needs to reflect the damage. 11. Beware of sellers whom use other high end maker names to try and generate a higher price for their auction item. Donâe(tm)t assume like items will be worth the same price every auction. Same items are not always the same condition. Have fun buying on Ebay!!!!
