This auction is for a stunning antique solid yellow gold jeweled Masonic Knight Templar fob. The bust of the Knight is hinged and the face shield is movable. The cross, swords and shield are hand chased and engraved. The hilt of each sword is set with two (2) old rose vut diamonds and the crown is set with eleven (11) old rose cut garnets (or rubies?). In black enamel 'IN HOC SIGNO VINCES': "In This Sign Thou Shalt Conquer" (The motto is said to have been adopted by Constantine after his vision of a cross in the heavens just before his decisive battle with Maxentius, A.D. 312). The crown also has black enamel. On the back of the fob is a hand engraved yellow shield with white enamel and yellow gold letters 'S S T K S H T W'. The fob measures 47mm long by 26mm wide or 1 7/8 linches long by 1 inch wide and weighs a hefty 12.4 grams. The fo was tested to be 10K. A high quality fob with incredibly fine detail. I would never sell it but have fallen on hard times and have no choice. The certificate of appraisal is included for your insurance and puts teh replacement value at $985. Sorry about the pictures quality, the flash makes it look tarnished but it is not. Thanks for looking and look at my feedback and bid with confidence.
