This extremely rare Coro brooch by Adolph Katz is such an exceptional piece of art that I actually have kept it on my desk leaning it up on my computer instead of in my jewelry box so I can look it at everyday. It is a 3-D castle (gold-plated) with towers of different heights, and some with banners flying, gold stone bricks at the bottom. The windows are clear and red baguettes, and sapphire blue baguettes make up part of one of the towers. T are pave stones inlaid in another turret and t are blue and red pair shaped stones as well. I have been unable to locate the exact patent drawing for this piece but it is quite similar to the one pictured from 1948 and I am sure it is from the same time period, give or take a year or two. It is 2" tall, over 1" across, and is extremely dimensional, with towers within towers and in front and behind, with the stone wall in front of all (this is studded with clear rhinestones in the turrets). It is marked "Coro" with the Pegasus mark and is in fantastic condition. I have only seen one of these in several years and they definitely do not come around very often. A must for Coro or castle collectors. A true work of art by the greatest brooch designer of all time, Adolph Katz! Please email me with questions or any info I have left out. Also, I am trying to do my part for the environment, so I will recycle my envelopes, tissue paper, bubble wrap, etc. as long as they are in good usable condition. It doesn't mean I don't love you if the envelope is re-used!
