This pot is one of the oldest from our collection, and the only one we have from the makers of pottery from Zell, Germany. The mark on the bottom of the pot in a coffee cup with the G and the S to the left and the right from the word Zell with the word GERMANY below that. In researching this German mark we discovered that it was made sometime between 1898 and 1907. It is a wonderful pot and the details on the bees are different from any of our other pots. The bees are quite small and t are 8 small bees on the outside of the pot and you can even see a portion of a bee entering the hive through an embossed opening in the base of the pot. The lid has 4 more small bees and the finial on top has a bee with wings folded together. The very tip of the wing on the finial is missing. T is a small flea bite on the front of the pot just above the spoon opening. The color is a rich golden brown and the bees are detailed in darker browns. This is a beautiful pot.
