***Golden Yellow Citrine*** ((( Amazing Quartz Crystal ))) *Gem Facet Grade Polished with Lodolite* "Minas Gerias - Brazil" 5-1/8" inches tall x 2-3/4" inches wide 1.21 Pounds - 545 Grams This is a gemmy clear and bright golden yellow citrine from the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Also known as golden healers a crystal this large and this clear is not easy to obtain because t just aren't very many of them found. The crystal is superbly clear with an assortment of reflective foils in the lower half which are basically ultra thin interior fractures caused by heat or extreme pressure and with the right lighting can produce rainbow effects. The upper half is populated by what's generally referred to as misty veils or transparent wisps but are actually a conglomeration of nearly microscopic gas bubbles. T's a small wedge shaped inclusion of natural lodolite in the bottom of the crystal; lodolite is a general term used to describe a hodgepodge mass of crystalline structures that form scenic landscapes and colorful achitectural and geometric designs often found in dream dome crystals. All in all this large size natural citrine is near facet grade clean with no milky or cloudy areas and has exceptional gem clarity with a radiant brilliance that looks like frozen sunshine to me. Footnote: Some sellers from China offer bright yellow polished crystals that look similar to this totally natural yellow citrine from Brazil at a fraction of the cost. These crystals are reconstituted (melted smelted quartz) which is nothing more than glass, the micro crystalline structure has been destroyed, the smelting killed it. Any color, size or shape can be made including sps. Don't be fooled by colored glass advertised as natural citrine, amethyst, smoky or water clear natural quartz. A good rule of thumb: Cut and polished crystals from China have a high probability of being smelted glass.
